College GameDay - Basketball

College GameDay was a college football program that covered the best games of the week, had great commentary and analysis, and inspired a rabid following. It’s always been one of ESPN’s premier properties. A few years ago they decided to leverage its outrageous popularity and franchise the brand into the college basketball arena.

We decided we wanted to present this as an enormous coup for college basketball. Something that would leave other college sports seething with envy and bad behavior. Our personal coup was convincing the network to run the intro spot without any tags or explanations.

And on a personal note, I have to give big ups to the non-stunt hockey player who not only managed to quickly shove his enormous body through a skinny freezer door - but also solidly took one in the chest. To his surprise. As for the Chess Club Dude - who was a stuntman - I never would have guessed in a million years he could go over the net like that, on purpose. The only person who got hurt during the whole shoot was the Ultimate Frisbee guy who was improperly nailed by the croquet player.
